Born Without Bones began as Scott Ayotte's solo project around 2009 and expanded into a full band, releasing Say Hello (2010), Baby (2013), Young at the Bend (2017) and Dancer (2022). The group signed with Pure Noise Records, saw a streaming surge in the early 2020s, and has played festivals including Boston Calling.
