About
Formed in 1980 by manager Malcolm McLaren, the group was fronted by teenage singer Annabella Lwin and built from former members of Adam and the Ants. They scored international attention with singles including "Go Wild in the Country" and their 1982 cover of "I Want Candy", and their rhythm-driven sound incorporated Burundi-inspired drum patterns. Annabella continues to perform billed as the original Bow Wow Wow while other lineups have toured under the name.
