Participant is a solo project led by Dublin-based musician Stephen Tiernan. The project released several singles and EPs between 2015–2020 (including the Modern Retelling EP and the single "Next Year") and is available on Bandcamp and major streaming platforms. Participant has been active in the indie/ambient scene and has appeared on indie music outlets and artist directories.
