Paycheque began when Allison Goldfarb and Jackson MacIntosh met at the Zebulon patio in February 2020 and started writing together during the COVID lockdown. They recorded their self-titled debut across 2024–2025 in a home studio and released the album on Mansions And Millions on June 12, 2026, supported by singles including "Generic Actress" and "Temporary Love".
