About
A fusion of reggae and soul, The Aggrolites spearhead their signature genre of dirty reggae. The group initially worked together as the backing band for reggae icon Derrick Morgan before realizing their collective potential in 2002, and by the end of the following year, they had already put out their first album. Their feel-good style was soon making waves thanks to their special combination of booming Jamaican drums and bass with soulful organs and guitars. Their lead vocalist Jesse Wagner has been compared to the likes of soul legends such as Otis Redding and Ray Charles.
Over the course of the last decade and a half, The Aggrolites have released four more studio albums and one live album, the most recent being their 2011 project Rugged Road which notably added flairs of punk, funk and ska to their dirty reggae formula. Their music has since also been featured on several hit shows such as NBC's “Friday Night Lights” and MTV's “The Hills”, and publications like Rolling Stone have been drawn to their unique style. The Aggrolites have famously shared the stage with world-class acts includingSocial Distortion, Rancid, Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys.
------
