Formed in 1949, the group’s 1949 cover of "Maple on the Hill" reportedly sold over 80,000 copies, making it one of New Zealand’s best-selling singles of the era. They released multiple LPs for Viking Records, toured Australia, and were inducted into the New Zealand Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988; the band continued performing until lead member Cole Wilson's death in 1993.
