Lynn Annette Ripley, known professionally as Twinkle, was an English singer-songwriter who scored a UK Top 5 hit in 1964 with the self-penned single "Terry" and wrote "Golden Lights," later covered by The Smiths. She released several singles for Decca in the mid-1960s, largely retired from the pop scene by the late 1960s, and has mid-1960s publicity portraits in the National Portrait Gallery. Twinkle died on 21 May 2015 after a five-year battle with cancer.
